Carousel

Carousel is a periodic internet magazine (ezine) that reprints articles on American life from older publications. Reprint contents cover culture, antiques, Americana, history and other genre written and published more than a half-century ago. Together, they give a "snapshot in time" to our parents' and grandparents' day when things moved slower and Americans looked forward optimistically to the lives their progeny would lead in the 21st Century.
The publisher is Tailhook Ebooks. The purpose of these Carousel reprints is to preserve ideas, methods, and opinions of that earlier time. Carousel sources include books, magazines, newspapers, journals, and other writings that are now out of print. All articles will probably tell a reader something new — new information; new insights on everyday tasks; and even a new way of looking at current life patterns.

Carousel Issue II-1
This Carousel issue has only two articles from Flying Magazine, April 1963: "U.S. Navy's Campus for Test Pilots" by Richard Bach, and "Plan It All the Way" by Navy pilot Barry F. Hampe. "Campus" is a very positive description of the Navy Test Pilot program in the early 60's. It explains in easily understood language the value of the school to the Navy, to fleet aviators, and to plane and equipment manufacturers who are required to meet Navy combat requirements. Hampe's story is about planning ahead in an emergency situation, only to have everything fall apart at the last moment because of unforeseen conditions. Both articles are excellent Navy articles in a civilian magazine.
